Novak’s Exit: Stage Right

This has been all over the T.V., but for those of you who missed it, here is a link to the video of Robert Novak getting mad and storming off a CNN set.

I find it hard to believe that Novak’s temper is so short that Carville’s little comment caused him to storm off. Perhaps all the negative attention is getting to him.

Boy I hope so. And not for any political reason. I just think he’s a grumpy, hateful fella, and a well publicized mental breakdown could be very entertaining. I pretty much feel the same way about Carville, but unfortunately I think Carville is so out of his mind that he’ll never crack, no matter what kind of pressure he is under.

This may be a little off the subject, but do you ever get the impression that Carville may have just killed someone earlier in his life? He looks a little crazy to me. I can picture it: James standing over someone with a shovel, laughing. His glasses are all askew, maybe one lens is cracked, and sweat is pouring down his smooth head. Maybe his jacket is torn from a scuffle. And he’d say something like “Boy, you sure fought harder than a ‘coon with his hand caught in a live-trap” with that Louisiana, coon-ass drawl. Then he’ll start shoveling dirt on top of a semi-conscious body while whistling “When the Saints Go Marching In.”

No? I’m the only one who imagines that? Oh well.
