Every once in a while, something on the internet will come along that will make me pause. This is one of those things. I just saw those pictures, and I understand some people are disappointed with the elections results. But I don’t feel that we need to justify ourselves to the world at large because our political system worked, and by that I mean at least when we have very contentious elections which we have had throughout history, the political process does not break down. Let’s just revisit a current situation in say Ukraine where they are still struggling in their recent elections. We don’t have the threat of revolution hanging over our heads, or how about other countries that will not even allow another voice, say like Ivory Coast. As always, in the political process someone is going to win and someone is going to lose, and people are not going to like it, but as always the balance can change. And let’s remember this, neither party has a monopoly on stupidity or immorality. We need to protect the space where we have the freedom to have these opposing points of view.
