Did I fall asleep for ten years? Since when did Hasselhoff pass Shatner as the cheesiest has-been in Hollywood? But I do love the reappearance of Kitt. And readers…don’t Hassle the Hoff.

Sad, but poignant, article.

“It seems to me that the great thing about the flag is that it symbolizes something inherently indestructible: the concept of freedom. You can burn the flag as many times as you want and the concept of freedom is not only still there ”“ it’s stronger.”

Oh boy, I do hope this is true. It would make international politics so much more…soap opera-y. Maybe now Zarqawi will come back from the dead and confront Al-Qaida, and then we’ll find out George Bush has been possessed by a demon just like Marlena.

Why do we need a flag burning amendment, when we have public burning laws on the books? Some one wants to burn a flag, fine. Arrest them for public burning, not for flag burning. It also denies them some of the attention that they have been craving. If you are offended by it, tough luck. Hang a flag in your yard with the proper respect. Don’t let them know it bothers you.
The funniest thing about that whole debate is that if a flag hits the ground tradition requires that you burn it.
