We Have A Winnah!

For our reading group we’ll read Kazuo Ishiguro’s Never Let Me Go.

From the wiki entry for the book:

Never Let Me Go is a 2005 novel by Kazuo Ishiguro. It was shortlisted for the 2005 Booker Prize and for the 2006 Arthur C. Clarke Award. Time Magazine named it the best fiction novel of 2005 and included it in All-TIME 100 Greatest Novels. While it contains many tropes generally associated with science fiction, it was marketed as mainstream literature.

Unless anyone disagrees, we’ll start reading on Monday. Hopefully that’ll give everyone enough time to find a copy of the book.

Cool, got my copy tonight. Will there be chapter assignments of will we need to read it all and comment.

I guess I need to finish the other three books I am reading.

  2. That’s a good question. I’ll think about it, and post before we officially begin reading it.

  3. Hoooray – I can get the book, too!
I read it in Hungarian, I hope that does not excludes me from the group.
I also read another one (M. Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale) at the moment, but I think I can handle that.
What are we exactly supposed to do?
    Thanks!

  4. I ordered mine from Amazon – I doubt I’ll get it before middle or end of next week – could we postpone by a week?

  5. Sure. That’s a good point. As soon as everyone gets the book we’ll start.

Absolutely not. I’m just excited that one more person wants to participate! As soon as everyone gets the book we’ll start reading!
