Life On The Farm Is Kinda Laid Back

Don’t expect a whole lot of bloggery from me until Sunday night. We’re visiting my parents on the farm, and as any loyal reader of this blog knows, the connection speed out here runs at about the same pace as USPS. Sometimes slower.

But there are certain advantages to country livin’. You never have to worry about traffic. A car might pass by my parents house on the dusty gravel road once every hour or so. You can step outside in your underwear and pretty much know that no one will see you. Well, the cows might, but they never tell.

So enjoy your weekend, and I’ll enjoy mine. And as John Denver once said:

Well a simple kinda life never did me no harm
A raisin’ me a family and workin’ on a farm
My days are all filled with an easy country charm
Thank God I’m a country boy

did hell just freeze over?!?! i never thought i would see the day you would resort to quoting john denver!! unless it was the sound of john denver being strangled…”you came on my pillow…aaaarrrrgggghhhh”…thank you.

be careful with that poor doggie out there. Settin’ her up like that for cows to sneak up on… Haven’t you seen the killer cow movie where they ATE that man on the way to the slaughterhourse??

Ellie just does NOT look thrilled to be in a cow pasture. Besides,, cows don’t nibble ears like her ‘Nubis does……

  3. Actually I was thinking of the way cool Pauly Shore version of “Thank God I’m a Country Boy,” but I didn’t think anyone had heard that one except me, so I credited John Denver. And Terry Jones does the worst John Denver impersonation on the planet. Not that it isn’t funny, and strangling John Denver does put a big ‘old smile on my face.

And nobody nibbles ears like ‘Nubis. Of course, nobody nibbles lips like Ellie. They’re a match made in Heaven.
